Improving integrated systems of care between local jails and community behavioral health organizations (CBHOs) is necessary to reduce the prevalence of incarcerated individuals with mental illnesses cycling through the criminal justice system. The Mental Health Liaison Group (MHLG) has not issued any recent statements regarding justice: however, MHLG supports legislative efforts to strengthen a connection between behavioral health services and people who are justice involved.
